How does Central Heating work?
Central Heating simply fills the desired parts of your home
with warm air.
Central Heating does this by slowly drawing all the air out
of the house through a centrally located return air duct and
passing it through a heater before returning it to the house
by a network of smaller ducts. This warm air is then reintroduced
through floor or ceiling outlets at the outer edges of the
house. From there it slowly makes its way back to the return
air duct to start the cycle over again. The whole process
is controlled by the Brivis Networker.
Unlike other forms of heating you can remain oblivious to
the weather conditions outside. Central heating isn't just
more comfortable, its also healthier. The air is not exposed
to the combustion process, so the impurities in the gas are
not introduced into your home. There are no sudden temperature
changes from room to room, and the air is constantly moving,
so there is no stuffy, stale air.
And Brivis central heating systems are totally safe. There
are no dangerous heating elements or exposed flames. The units
are placed in the roof or outside, well out of harms way.
Finally, gas central heating is affordable. A fully installed
Brivis central heating system can provide total comfort and
control for around the price of two space heaters .
| What
can you expect from Gas Central Heating? |
| Whole home
heating |
With ducted
heating you can warm the entire home from a single unit.
Your family have the freedom to use all of the home, instead
of huddling together in one or two rooms. |
| Ease of operation |
After initial
installation and controller programming, the system need
never be touched. However, there is a simple off-on switch
on the controller which overrides all programmes, if this
method of operation seems easier. |
| Condensation
Reduction |
As a ducted
system is completely indirect, the air being warmed is
kept separate from the combustion process. ie. the by-products
of burnt gas cannot be mixed in with the room air. Also,
the air movement over the heat exchanger slightly reduces
humidity and helps reduce existing condensation problems. |
| Air Movement
Freshness |
We all know
how musty rooms can smell if they have been shut up with
little air movement. A ducted system provides 3 to 5 complete
air changes an hour throughout the entire home. |
| Rapid Heat
Times |
With a correctly
sized system you can expect preheat times of around 30
minutes to raise the temperature by 6 degrees Celsius
(depending of course on the level of insulation and heat
loss). |
| Unobtrusive
|
With ducted
heating all that is visible are small floor or ceiling
vents that gently discharge the warm air. Floor grills
come in a range of 10 colours, and if you change you floor
coverings, the grills are relatively inexpensive to replace. |
| Cost Effective
|
With flexible
duct systems and specialist installers, the cost of ducted
heating has plummeted, and can now be installed for the
price of two space heaters. |
| Low Maintenance
|
As a single
unit heats the entire home, servicing costs are kept to
a minimum. Ducted heating units have only one moving part:
the fan. They are inherently reliable. |
| Safety |
With ducted
central heating there are no exposed flames or very hot
surfaces inside the house for young children or the elderly
to touch or fall against. Gas ducted central heating systems
have a safety record second to none. All Brivis units
have an internal electronic monitoring system which automatically
shuts the unit down if it senses something abnormal. In
addition, the Brivis Networker displays an error code
so that the fault can be quickly and easily identified.
Brivis South Africa will ensure that an expert will service
the unit where necessary, as soon as possible. |
| Warranty |
All Brivis
units in domestic applications are covered by a comprehensive
3 year parts and labour warranty. This is extended to
10 years parts and labour on burners, heat exchangers, external
cases and the complete duct system, subject to correct
installation. |
